Functional and
Naturopathic Medicine
Restore Your True Health
Health issues can take away our most cherished moments. But what if you could reclaim them?
At our wellness center, we offer both Functional and Naturopathic Medicine, two holistic approaches that prioritize your overall health and well-being. Here’s a brief overview of each to help you decide which path aligns with your health goals.

Functional Medicine

Functional Medicine takes a scientific and individualized approach to healthcare, focusing on the underlying causes of chronic diseases. Key features include:
- Personalized Treatment: We assess your unique genetic, biochemical, and lifestyle factors to create tailored treatment plans.
- Patient-Centered Care: Our practitioners work collaboratively with you to empower your health journey.
- Comprehensive Diagnostics: We utilize advanced testing to inform your care, addressing everything from hormonal balance to gut health.
This method emphasizes overall wellness and aims to restore balance in your body for long-term health.

Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathy focuses on the body’s innate ability to heal itself through natural means. Rooted in the principle of “the healing power of nature,” our naturopathic services emphasize:
- Holistic Care: We treat the whole person, considering physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors.

- Natural Therapies: Our practitioners utilize diet, herbal remedies, and therapies such as sauna treatments, Epsom salt baths, and detoxification methods.

- Root Cause Approach: We identify and address the underlying causes of health issues, rather than just alleviating symptoms.
This approach is designed to support your body’s vital energy, promoting healing and well-being.

Healing Philosophy and Choosing Your Path

-
Functional Medicine: Focuses on identifying and addressing specific biochemical and lifestyle factors that contribute to disease, often employing lab tests to guide treatment.

-
Naturopathy: Emphasizes the body's innate healing ability and the importance of natural therapies. Naturopaths work to remove obstacles to healing, such as toxins, and support the body’s natural processes.

Approach to Treatment

-
Functional Medicine: Concentrates on the complex interactions within the body and aims to treat specific conditions by addressing their root causes, such as gut health and microbiome balance.

-
Naturopathy: Utilizes a combination of natural remedies, dietary adjustments, and traditional techniques to promote healing. Emphasizes the quality of the body’s terrain (cellular and tissue health).

We distinguish between healing and curing. However, in today's world, the term "cure" can be misleading. Therefore, we want to clarify that we do not claim to "treat" or "cure" any conditions that our patients may have.
Our objective is to understand the root cause of a patient's symptoms, eliminating any obstacles to their well-being and restoring what is lacking. We do not always replace conventional medical treatments; instead, we empower our patients to take charge of their own health. Our ultimate aim is to bring back vitality and wellness.
We firmly believe that a diagnosis alone cannot provide a comprehensive understanding of the body's internal workings, often limiting the available options for intervention. Let us help resolve the following list of presentations:

How does it work?Cellulite therapy involves the application of pulsed acoustic waves to specific body tissues. As the human body is predominantly composed of water, these waves travel through the tissue, generating a cascade of reactions due to the forces exerted. The pulses of vibrational waves penetrate deep into the tissues, causing damage to the fat cells and connective tissues. Subsequently, the body's natural healing process replaces the damaged tissues with new collagen, resulting in smoother and firmer skin. The newly generated collagen and tissues are denser, leading to a more aesthetically pleasing appearance than before the treatment.
-
What should I expect? We recommend wearing loose comfortable clothing to the treatment. Depending on the body part being treated, we may have you change into a gown to make the area being treated more accessible. A gel will be applied to your skin to improve the effectiveness of the treatment. We try to keep the gel warm, but sometimes it may feel cold when applied. The therapist will use a handheld device that emits shockwaves to your treatment area. The device is moved over your skin in a circular motion, and the intensity of the shockwaves can be adjusted based on your comfort level. You may feel a slight tingling or vibrating sensation during the treatment, but it should not be painful. Some patients describe the sensation as similar to a deep tissue massage.
-
How many sessions are recommended?Depending on your goals and the severity of your cellulite, you may need multiple sessions to achieve the desired results. A typical treatment plan may involve 8-12 sessions starting at two times per week. Ultimately, the number of sessions recommended will depend on your individual needs and goals, and should be discussed with a qualified practitioner or healthcare provider.
-
What should I expect after the treatment? You may experience some mild redness, soreness or bruising in the treatment area, but this should resolve within a few days. It is important to follow any post-treatment instructions provided by your therapist, such as avoiding vigorous exercise, hot baths, or sun exposure for a certain period of time and to drink plenty of water to aid in the detoxification process. Additionally, if you experience any unusual or persistent symptoms after a session, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider to rule out any underlying health concerns.
-
Are there contraindications?Cellulite therapy is generally considered safe, but there are certain medical conditions and situations where it may not be recommended. Here is a list of contraindications: Pregnancy/Breastfeeding Blood clotting disorders Blood thinner medications Active cancer Nerve or blood vessel disorders Active infections in the area being treated Open wounds or sores in the area being treated Pacemakers or other implanted devices Epilepsy or seizure disorders Skin or tissue disorders
